Travel Make Up Bag

Saturday, 2 May 2015

So it's Bank Holiday weekend, and i'm making the most of it by going away. What to take in my make up bag is always a troublesome task. So I just take my all time favourite fail safe products and a selection of essential brushes.

My go to base is always Nars Sheer Glow foundation. It provides a great buildable coverage that never feels heavy with a radiant finish, which I love!
To conceal I like to use Maxfactor CC Colour Corrector for under eye circles, the yellow counteracts any purple tones under the eyes. I also like to run a little bit down my nose as I find it really brightening and lifting. I follow this with the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, it's incredibly long wearing and really hides imperfections beautifully. I find this concealing combo also makes for a great base if I want a foundation free more natural look.
My next essential is the Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze and Glow, not only is it an incredibly beautiful product, but it's convenient too as it's two in one. The bronzer is perfect for a sun kissed contour, and the golden highlighter is incredibly flattering, it really captures the light. The two together are stunning and totally fool proof.
I like to take my one favourite blush, which happens to be Nars Deep Throat but moving into summer i've got my eye on Gina, an orange shade, which sounds scary but it's really flattering. I think I'll have to pick it up on my next Space NK trip (I'm truly a Nars addict I think it's becoming a problem, I really do..)
One good palette can create any look. I always reach for my Naked 2 Palette, where I can achieve a natural everyday look, or a sultry smokey eye if need be.
I'm loving a winged liner at the moment, I only reach for Maxfactor Masterpiece Glide & Define Liquid Eyeliner, it is beyond easy to use for a really sharp line.
I'll finish of my eyes with the Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara for really bold long lashes.
I like to take a neutral and a bold lip option, just in case. For a more natural lip, I reach for Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lipliner in Eastend Snob, a rosey pinky 'your lips but better' shade. It goes great by itself under a gloss or under more natural lipsticks. I also carry Mac Cherry Lip Pencil, because you just never know if the urge might take you to rock a bold lip.
I also carry a number of lipsticks rolling around at the bottom of my handbag. Some of my favourites at the moment are Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya, a lovely orangey shade with pinky undertones, beautiful during the day for a subtle pop of colour, a more bold coral shade i've been loving is  Lipstick Queen Liptropolis in Upper East, much more pinky but equally lovely.
I carry a powder, just in case, but I don't tend to use it every day. At the moment i'm using Rimmel Clear Complexion Powder. I carry a selection of face brushes, including Real Techniques and Body Shop brushes. I tend not to carry additional eye shadow brushes as the Naked Palette has a handy double ended brush which i'll make do with.
