So the 1st March marked the first day of Spring and I'm pretty damn excited about it. Not that you'd know it though, apparently the weather didn't get the memo.. it's still too cold and frosty! Nevertheless, here are some thing's that are getting me ready for Spring.
#1 Sunshine and Flowers!
I looooove Spring time flowers, Daffodils, Tulips, Blossom and whilst it's far from always sunny, the sun is up earlier! I love waking up and it's light, leaving work and it's light, walking to the bus stop in the morning through the Blossom lined streets. Coming home to new bunches of flowers brightening up the flat.
#2 Ce rouge à lèvres est So Chaud
I google translated that, I can't speak french.. anyway.. I've always kind of fancied myself an orangey lipstick, I've never been quite confident enough to pull it off, but I've always kept my eye out for the perfect shade. I was browsing Mac, looking at shades, without any intension of buying anything - as one does, and I ended up picking So Chaud up. I'd remembered Alice mention it as her favourite in a recent post, so I swatched it, put some on - immediately I was in love, needless to say it came home with me. It's the perfect matte orangey red, incredibly pigmented and long wearing, it makes your teeth look white and lovely too. It's gorgeous I love it!
#3 All the Cushions
I love cushions, I could spend all my money on bloody cushions, but I try to be somewhat restrained in the price of cushions I purchase, because I like to change them up so often, it's not worth spending hundreds on them. Last weekend while perusing H&M Home, I picked up these beauties. I wanted to wean out the reds from Autumn winter for something a little brighter, I love all these palmy, leafy, ferny prints around at the moment, I thought these two were gorgeous and they'd really brighten up the flat. I love H&M Home, it's such good value and they have some really really lovely things that you'd find in Zara Home for double, or Oliver Bonas or John Lewis for triple the price. Green is one of my favourite colours and it's a happy jolly colour so my flat is looking pretty happy at the moment, which makes me happy.
#4 NARSissist Matte/Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette
This palette is a dream, it's got the most perfect day to night shades. I use the matte cream and browns every single day just to add some definition to my eyes and I just friggin love it, but I'm particularly excited about the gold infused teal shimmer shade (Mandchourie), it's absolutely stunning and the perfect spring shade, with blues and greens being 'in' this Spring (apparently). That with the light matte brown (Maya Bay) through the crease, wavy hair, a nude lip and an all white outfit is what I picture.
#5 Light Floral Fragrance
I got Jo Malone's Peony & Blush Suede Cologne for Christmas, I can't get enough of it! It's the perfect everyday scent because it's so light and fresh. It's so feminine, soft and sweet with an almost warm sour citrus hint to it, which is perfect because I don't like a chokingly floral perfume, they give me a headache. Someone tell me what 'Blush Suede' is meant to smell like.. leathery? Not sure haha. I popped into the Kingston Jo Malone store last weekend, and fell in love with the limited edition Sorrel & Lemon Thyme, it's absolutely stunning and next on my list for sure!
What's getting you excited for Spring?
