23 Facts About Me

Friday, 13 May 2016

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY. On Friday 13th, I know... unlucky for some! I am 23 today, so I thought it might be nice to share 23 facts about me that you otherwise may not know, so you can get to know the girl behind the blog.

#1 When I was born I was just about the biggest baby going, a whopping 10lbs 11oz, soz Mum!!!

#2 I live in London and I looooove it but I really miss the smell of manure and the rolling fields from home (North Somerset)

#3 When I was a little girl my dream was to be an artist!

#4 I desperately want a Ragdoll cat and a Dachshund and I want them to be best friends!

#5 My favourite meal is a Roast Dinner, but only if everything is involved, a roast without cauliflower cheese or stuffing is frankly just disappointing...

#6 I used to be terrified to the sea after an incident involving a swarm of Jelly Fish and a panic attack in the ocean, but I joined my Universities Surf Club and now I'm ok..

#7 I met my now boyfriend in that same Surf Club, he saved me from some rocks / rip current and taught me to surf (sounds much more romantic than what actually happened, but i'll leave you with the idealistic visions) - apparently it just takes a boy to conquer a fear haha

#8 My go to drink is a Gin and Tonic, but I also looove cocktails! I'm particularly partial to an espresso martini (only when they're done well...)

#9 My guilty pleasure is watching terrible films, like those ones that 'Netflix recommends' but you know are going to be truly truly terrible. Recently 'Legally Blondes' was recommended it was AWFUL but also great at the same time, I can't even explain haha!

#10 I absolutely love Bakewell Tarts!!

#11 One of my favourite places is Center Parcs, we used to go all the time when I was young and it was great! I've not been for years now but i'm desperate to go back.

#12 I once played on of the three pigs (Sty) in a school play and I forgot my lines and I had to repeat the same line several times in a row. My bow tie also came undone and I had to hold it in place with my chin. I think I got away with it though.....

#13 My absolute dream would be to live on a farm with a beautiful barn where I could host weddings and I'd keep sheep and pigs to spit roast for wedding food. I'd have a little shop/cafe/florist/cake shop on the side

#14 I'm desperate to see the Northern Lights

#15 and to go to New Zealand!

#16 I'm pretty clumsy but when I'm tipsy I spill almost every single drink.. I'm impossible

#17 Infact I'm generally quite clumsy - when I was about 6/7, I watching the Spice Girls movie, as one would. I loved Sporty Spice, I thought she was pretty cool, and at some point (probs many points, I don't remember the exact point) she does a high kick, which I of course copied, and kicked myself in the face, giving myself a nose bleed.

#18 When I was at school I learnt: the recorder (obvs everyone did), piano, violin, clarinet and oboe, but I gave them all up (mostly because I never liked any of the teachers). I'd love to learn the piano and / or violin again one day though

#19 I've not read any of the Harry Potter books *gasp* but I would like to..

#20 Graduating from University with a 2:1 was the proudest day of my life!

#21 I make the greatest Rocky Road of all time.. if I say so myself...

#22 I have a really short attention span with tv programmes and films, if i'm not hooked within the first 10 minutes I'm highly unlikely to watch it.

#23 I'm the worst story teller. They're either just bland or too long and they never have a proper end. They've become a little infamous amongst my friends as 'Sarah Stories'

  1. Happy Birthday! I hope you have had a wonderful day :-) Oh my goodness, it's been SO long since I've had a Bakewell Tart... I'm definitely keeping them in mind next time I'm wanting a treat now!! I'm still yet to try your Rocky Road recipe too - I just remember the photos you posted on Twitter of them and being in complete awe! :-)

  3. I'm just having a nose through your blog and I didn't realise you are from Somerset! I used to live in the south side in between Somerton and Taunton before I moved to Hampshire.
