Dorset: Photo Diary

Thursday, 12 May 2016

So last weekend was the most stunning of the year so far, and as luck would have it we were going to stay with some friends in Dorset. Here's what we got up to...

So on Saturday we were treated to a breakfast spread of eggs, bacon and sausage baps and croissants to fuel us for a day at the beach, afterwards we headed off to Bournemouth for the day.

We spent the afternoon walking along the sea front basking in the sunshine. I had my first ice cream of the year! Cookies and cream twas bloody lovely. Look at the cute beach huts!!

We later moved on to 7 Bones for dinner, it was such a cool little restaurant - the type of place you see in London so I had high expectations.

The menu was so quirky, everything was named with a cool and different name. I went for the 'Prince Charles is Overrated' Burger (which was a beef burger with bacon, cheese, shredded lettuce, pickles, 'dirty' spread - which we never did quite establish what was 'dirty' about the sauce...) which I had with chilli cheese fries and OOOOOHH MYYYY GOOOOD WAS IT GOOD!! We were all pretty silent the entire time devouring our juicy burgers they were seriously incredible!

I had that with a French Bone cocktail (gin with honey, lemon juice, strawberry and champagne) which was equally delicious, a nice refreshing cocktail, perfect with a heavy meal.

Although we were all pretty comatosed after our feast we headed out for a few drinks afterwards.

Our first port of call was The Lost Paradise where we had some cocktails in The Garden Den. I think the winner of the evening was this raspberry and lychee mojito, it was the most popular amoungst the group as they were so delicious and refreshing

We then moved on to Turtle Bay for some more drinks. I went for my favourite, an espresso martini, to be honest it wasn't the best I've had but it wasn't the right place to have one really, I should have gone for a fruity rum cocktail or something but I really just fancied one. Nonetheless it was such a cool atmosphere and I loved the decor and lighting.

After a bit of a lie in we headed to Hengitbury Head for the day. It was absolutely beautiful, it was the most stunning day I couldn't get enough of it. We sunbathed for a little while and then went for a wander.

We climbed up to the ..'head'? I don't know what to call it haha, the cliff face head land I guess.. which gave us some incredible views. Next time we want to go down to Mudeford and see all the beautiful beach huts.

We had such a wonderful weekend and we were so lucky with the stunning weather! More of that pleaase 2016!
