Bullet Journal: 1 Month On

Sunday, 5 June 2016

I am fully on the bandwagon of the infamous journal that has taken the blogging world by storm. To be honest, I just like a bit of an excuse to do some colouring and doodles. As my first post went down so well, I figured I'd share a bit of an update with you.

If you saw my Bullet Journal: The Start post, the layout and these pages will be familiar to you. My journal contains lined, plain and square pages, the lined pages are my non time specific pages for ideas, overviews and things I want to check up on regularly.

These are working well for me at the moment but I'd like to start introducing some more pages that I can do more with. My favourite part of my journal so far has been the tracking aspects and lists.

A look at the month of May...

Mostly because I didn't know what else to do with the blank pages, but also because I love a good doodle, I've got a page dedicated to memories of the month. I'd like to add some font inspo and header inspo pages so I can flick to them for ideas when I start a new page. At the moment I open up my Bullet Journal Pinterest Board on my phone and copy from there but I'd like an analogue version. Be sure to follow my board for inspo, plus the lovely Gwennan on 20 Something Meltdown has created a free printable for such things so you should deffo go and take a look!

As I mentioned, the tracking aspects is one of my favourite parts of the Bullet Journal as it's made me double check whether or not I'm doing things I'd like to be doing, such as getting enough sleep, blogging and instagramming consistently, reading and not spending money unnecessarily.

You can see from my weekly logs that they're a bit sparse, so the format is something I'm changing moving into June. As my bullet journal is used for life/blogging rather than work or uni or anything there's actually frequently days where there's not anything 'to do' (I mean obvs I have chores and cooking and random stuff but I don't feel like they need to be in there).

I've also found the water tracker quite hard to keep up with. When if it's a quiet week then I found it interesting and useful but I'm not sure about including it daily within the weekly log..

A look into June...

I'm sticking with the Monthly log format with the Habit Tracker alongside as I felt this worked really well for me, I like having a one look overview of how my month is going. I'm thinking of possibly making the last empty tracker a 'hydration' tracker rather than daily within the weekly log. So rather than by glass it'll be either I drank enough or I didn't end of. Still not sure yet though.

I've shrunk the weekly log down to one page rather than two as I think it will work for me better as there's just simply not enough on each day to warrant two pages. It will also leave me space for lists (another aspect I'm loving). I'm pretty certain this format is going to work much better for me.

The bullet journal story so far...

Do you have a bullet journal? How are you getting on with it? If you have any posts or pinterest boards please do leave links for them below because I want to make much more of it.

  1. I've had my bullet journal for just over a month now and still love it! Yours looks so much more organised than mine does though - I wont lie. I'm loving how I can change it for what I need depending on whether I'm at uni, in exam season or at home. I doubt I'll change from that style now!

  5. This is awesome. I've actually not heard of the bullet journal *shame* but this looks amazing and I love the idea of it. I'd imagine my first few pages looking pretty and then slowly turning into an absolute mess 😂

    1. WHAT! GET OUT! Just kidding, it's a good bit of fun really and a bit of helpfulness along the way. I ripped out a lot of pages to begin with trying to keep it perfect, but I do enjoy putting effort into the way it looks but I don't hold the odd mistake against myself haha
