Yesterday was the big day, the day of the Blogger Picnic in the Park, and what a day it was! After weeks and weeks of planning with the help of some utter babes we managed to pull off a great afternoon.
As I mentioned in my invite post to the picnic, since the start of the year I've found myself getting more and more into blogging and more involved with the blogging community. I was really keen to meet some of the online friends I've made along the way in real life, so I took it upon myself to arrange a meet up.
I've been so overwhelmed with the amazing support from Gwennan, Mel, Hannah, Nina and Effi - I couldn't have done it without them! We had a group chat and a spreadsheet full of all our secrets and planning - there were some times where we went completely off topic e.g buddy the elf and communicating in gifs, but it was such good fun and they were AMAZING, so thank you girls!
The weather the forecast leading up was.. not great... with wind and rain I was CONSTANTLY monitoring the forecast for changes. I woke up yesterday morning to rain, but still I remained positive - what kind of British picnic would it be without the Great British weather...
Yesterday morning I arrived in central London and met with Mel and Hannah, then later joined by Gwennan (who helped me carry the ton of stuff like absolute champs) and the rain cleared, the sun shone and it then stayed pretty much clear from then on, in fact not just clear but quite warm and really quite lovely! It was windy though and we did get some leaves in the sandwiches but nothing we couldn't handle.
We were gifted some absolutely fabulous treats from some amazing brands! Hammam Havlu sent us the most stunning towels which double up brilliantly as blankets, beautiful bunting from Interior Goods Direct, lovely lanterns, garlands, napkins, straws and all sorts from Talking Tables, and the prettiest bunch of flowers from our Bloom & Wild flower delivery! They really set the scene for a beautiful picnic, it was really important to us that it would be perfectly instagrammable - we are bloggers after all!
The most amazing spread of goodies was put on for us by Benugo, with sandwiches, wraps, fruit, cakes, muffins, it was fabulous and all went down very well! Plus added treats from Oreo, Ritz, Mikado, Robinsons and Vita Coco.
Not only did we have all that but everyone also brought something to share, obviously there was my Corner Shop Rocky Road, the famous Oreo cheesecake from Jessica and James (Food & Baker), some mini calzones from Libby (Never Wears White), the cutest little fruit skewers from Sarirah (Pretty Not Included) and sausage rolls from Mark (Smoke Bark) amongst other things!
Later on in the afternoon, having munched on the treats we were greeted by a delivery of Only By Nature frozen yogurts which were absolutely delicious, and healthy too!
We also put together some goody bags for each of the bloggers with an array of treats we were given, including the cutest pencil and a discount code from Gwennan Rees Illustration, the cutest prints from Sparkleberry Illustrations, crazy popcorn flavours from Propercorn, handbag sized squash bottles from Robinsons, vitamins from Bassetts, pineapple garlands and hanging decorations from Talking Tables, samples of Frezyderm suncream, an alternative insect bite relief from ZapIt, tea samples form Oteas, antibacterial wipes from Milton, Baobab superfood sachets from Aduna, bags of treats from Graze, coconut curls from Ape Snacks, and a variety of tasty chocolates from Lily O'Briens!
We finished up with a raffle for the Hammam Havlu Towels, the Bunting from Interior Goods, some Wellness gift boxes of tea from Oteas and a variety of chocolate boxes from Lily O'Briens. A massive thank you to all the brands who helped us out, gifted us items and supported our event!
It was such a wonderful day, I couldn't have wished for a better bunch of people to come so thank you all for coming! It made all the effort and planning completely and utterly worthwhile, I hope you had as good a time as I did!
If you want to have a nose at what we got up to and other posts from the bloggers than came along go on over to Twitter or Instagram to the #BloggerPitP hashtag - I am LOVING all the pictures!
I'm so pleased with how it went and that we managed to pull it off, it was both the first blogger event I've been to and the first one I've organised and I'd love to meet you all again! I've got the bug now so I'm sure we'll plan something else again soon enough. Let me know in the comments what you might like to do next!
