I am a self confessed Netflix-a-holic. Nothing pleases me more than a series binge on a weekend while I potter around the flat or do a bit of blogging.
Here are some of my current favourites:
How to get away with murder
After a plea on Twitter for suggestions, having exhausted almost every series, the lovely Nina from Words by Nina recommended this to me and OH MY GOD WAS I ADDICTED. In fact I finished it in one weekend and now I'm just dying waiting for Series 2 (please hurry up Netflix!). There may have been an incident where I did almost spoil it for Nina (soz pal) while she was on episode 3 and I'd long overtaken her! It's really brilliant though, about a law school where some students and their lecturer find themselves involved in a murder while investigating others along the way. It's so gripping and completely binge worthy.Stranger Things
If you haven't watched this yet do you even have Netflix? I can't get over how amazing this was! It's about a little boy who gets lost - his friends look for him, there's a secret lab with all sorts going on there, supernatural forces, and really just lots of strange things going on. Insightful, I know, but I'm sure you've already heard its great so just get watching. I can't wait for season 2!
Scream
Another recommendation on Twitter (a while ago now and I can't remember who). I believe its a play on the old Scream franchise? Or a continuation of (I've not seen them so im not sure). It's set in highschool where some cyber bullying ends up in murder all linked to towns past. It is a bit scary but in that stupid horror movie way where you know it's not real. Best watched in daylight though, for me anyway I'm a wuss.iZombie
On of my best friends started watching this and she was just like 'Sarah, I need you to watch this so I can talk to someone about it' so of course I happily obliged because at the time, again, I'd finished the series I was on. It follows a woman who finds herself as a zombie and how she copes. There's so much more to it but I really don't want to spoil it. It is a little gruesome here and there (anything with zombies has to be really..) but nothing awful, it's quite light hearted really. Again, I finished it in no time and I'm eagerly awaiting the next season
Designated Survivor
We've actually only just started watching this, there's only a couple of episodes out at the moment with a new one every week (not something I like because I like to binge... but I suppose I'll have to accept that ERRRGHH). Anyway, I expected to find it really irritating and boring and get bored within 5 minutes but actually it's really quite exciting and I'm dying to watch the next episode. It's basically about a Congressman who finds himself leading the country after an attack on Washington destroys the US Government (unfortunately I don't think Trump was there... shame..)
The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Just one of those feel good series. It's got a theme tune that is bordering on annoying but I loved it and sang and danced along with every intro, and during, and afterwards - too cringe. It's the most addictive series about a girl brought up in a cult and when freed moves to New York. The characters are all a bit bizarre in their own ways. Its just harmless easy watching, like spongebob for adults.. or something I dunno haha.
I don't think I've revealed any spoilers, anything I described you find out in the first episode so.... yuh. Plus if I was telling you about this in real life there'd probably be a hell of a lot more as I try to force you to watch it so you can talk to me about it! Just trust me, you need to get on and watch them.
As you'll now know... I run out of a series pretty quickly as I watch it in one go, and other than Designated Survivor I have nothing on the go, so please help me by leaving your suggestions in the comments below! PLEEEEASE!
